Not a bad way to spend a friday.....

So yesterday was Beth's birthday. We got up in the morning and went and had breakfast...She went to work and had a facial then we came home because I still had to work yesterday at Starbucks. After I got off we went to Mr. Sushi ate a couple of rolls...drank a big bottle of Asahi and then headed over to club Fred. The bands that played were the Henchmen from Los Angeles and also The Marauding Ghouls. It was a cool show..saw some cats I had not seen in some time...sold some product...etc, etc, etc. I think we got home around 2:30 or so...It made for a pretty good day and Beth seemed to be cool with the way her birthday went so that is good. Today was Dinuba's raisin day parade and the truth is the only thing worse then Raisin Day is Cinco De Mayo weekend and maybe Hillyard Days Parade...No seriously. So as soon as DHS cheer leaders were done I was out of there...No Dinuba pride for me!!

I like capitalism!!

capitalism (n.)

"An economic system in which the means of production and distribution are privately or corporately owned and development is proportionate to the accumulation and reinvestment of profits gained in a free market."

If it were not for Capitalism I would not have a job, Luis would not have the chance to make his business a success, expansion teams in the MLS would not exist...etc, etc.

Anti-capitalist...anti-american people have a right to voice there opinion (God bless the Constitution) but guess what there is a line where actions become a form of domestic terrorism. When protestors begin causeing destruction to business and public and private property is when it becomes a form of domestic terrorism!!

These are the people that can kiss my ass!! that is all I have to say!

The Crucified.....

Let's see I am 35 now and the Crucified is celebrating 25 years...yeah that sounds about right.

For most people who know about The Crucified (www.myspace.com/thecrucifiedofficial) they were one of the most influential bands in Christian punk / metal / hardcore scene through out the 80's and into the early 90's. Every kid who was in a band wanted to be like them (myself included), cover there songs and just down right looked up to them. For me The Crucified was more then just a band....they were my childhood and youth!!

I am the middle of three boys. Wayne is my older brother by almost 6 years which meant me and Billie grew up with his friend coming around the house and some of these guys were people he went to Grace Community Church with there in Madera,Ca and high school with. A couple of these guys were Greg Minier and Jim Chaffin. I came to know Mark Salomon when I was a little older but I knew Mark as Mark Cooksey. The truth is these were not guys in a band to me but guys that put up with me cause I was Wayne's little brother.

I remember when I was younger Jim drove this VW Fastback and if memory serves me correct he would stay in car when he would come to pick Wayne up because my dad would give him a hard time....Truth is these were just Wayne's cool friends.

Older I got the more freedom to come and go I had and then I learned all about the Knight of Columbus Hall. My years in high school would not have been the same without this place....The Crucified, Applehead, Knucklehead, Scatered Few, Checkmate, Let's Go Bowling...just to name a few of the bands that I would see. In high school I would cut class and go to Jim's work and chat him up (he worked at a produce company in Madera). We would talk about the band (Crucified and the blamed), the church (Calvary Chapel was in the Tower District at the time). I probably annoyed him but I appreciated him putting up with a dumb high school kid.

Truth is because of Wayne being my brother...so much of what I have been apart of in my life is because of his influence...The KGB, promoter, dj...all this stuff influenced me. The Crucified was part of all of this...

I am not trying to re-write there bio or anything like that this is just how I remember growing up with the guys that went on to become the Crucified.

They were more then just a band....they were my childhood!!

Thanks for the memories!!

12 scene points for me....

So on Sunday after attending church with the family we hit up the Starbucks here in beautiful Dinuba and I was offered a job!! Yes folks you heard me right - Frankie is going to be a Starbuck coffee hustla!

The goal is to get a stable schedule there so I can try to find a way to cut hair part time..somewhere!

I am happy with the fact that I am going to be working - bummed that I am stuck here though.

On other topics....Jimmy Carter is a jackass, Daisy made it through her first day of soccer practice and this week is Free Setanta Preview week which means that I get to watch soccer for a few days uninterupted!!

life is alright!

No title....cause I can not think of one!!

So recently the term "G12" has come up a few times so tonight I have been trying to look it up and see where its roots are from then I see it connected to Mike Bickle (IHOP) and Tedd Haggard (Colorado pastor who committed adultery and busted with meth)....

It seems like there are alot of new trends popping up in Christian culture and trying to determine what is biblical and what is a false teaching is becoming tougher and tougher. I mean the lines are getting blurrier everyday!!

I am getting tired and everything is starting to read the same.....so I will say this - Put that new trend, new doctrine or hip new theology next to the word of God see how it compares tell me if it stands next to what God has laid out in His word because if it does not stand next to what the Bible says....yo man you are getting suckered!!!

And so it begins....

Monday is Daisy's first day of practice....Her kit came today and she is really excited. This will be the first time she has played a sport of any kind. She will be playing for the Rotary Club and her first match will be October 3rd.

Today was the first DHS Football game but Lindsee is at Encounter instead of cheering this week.

Now I have two kids playing a sport!!

Never Forget the past......

Today is September 11th, 2009 and on this day in 2001 the United States was faced with one of it's greatest tragedies since the bombing of Pearl Harbor in 1941.

This morning I turned on the news to see different memorials about that day and really the only thing that came to mind was that it seems like people forget what happened until they are reminded. It seems like people have forgotten the lives lost....the heros...the survivors. Its politics as usual.

Tomorrow is 9/12 and back to business as usual......I hope not.
